I'm a Microsoft SQL Server DBA born in Southwest Louisiana (and a proud Cajun) living in San Francisco. Like many other nerds, I love technology and hot ladies.

Me and my vegan Unix admin friend, Will.
Amusingly odd and whimsically comical.
Background
My addiction to computers started back in 1987 when my Mom purchased a Leading Edge Model D for her home office. She also bought Infocom's Wishbringer to encourage her three children to become familiar with MS-DOS. It worked; all three of her children now work in IT.
This is where I started playing with computers - the heart of Cajun country.
Notice how far the heart is from New Orleans. Thanks!
I bought NetNerds.net back in 1997 after I created a company, NetNerds Networks. I used to consult but now I spend my free time working on RealCajunRecipes.com with my mom and best friend. I looooove cooking, though I'm not nearly as good as my mom or grandma.
In 2007, I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BS in Information Systems. I've been working in IT for 12 years now and have spent the last 9 working as a database administrator and programmer. Although I spend most of my time on Windows networks, I have several years of experience with Linux, BSD and OS X.
I love the Bay Area for its emphasis on technology, its numerous coffee shops and its coldish weather. It's also awesome seeing my fellow American citizens always exersizing their right to assemble and participate in political rallies.
My Setup
Well... the colo has 3 DL360s of various generations running a mix of Windows 2003, Linux and VMWare ESX. All need more RAM.
As for my home & office setup, I use a Dell XPS M1210 and I freaking love it. I used to have a Macbook but, as a Windows user, it was torture. I never thought I'd swoon over a Dell but here I am. This powerhouse weighs like 4.5 pounds and sports a 2Ghz Core 2 Duo with a 4MB cache, 2gb of RAM, 80gb 7200 rpm hard drive and a 256MB video card. Over the past three years, I've run Windows Server 2003 on my laptops but I now sport Windows Vista Enterprise and I dig it.
When at work, I plug my laptop into a 24 inch Dell 2407WFP.
As for software, you can find what I use all the stuff listed here.
My Music
I love everything from New Kids to NSync. But instead of going through a laundry list, I'll let my Last.FM account speak for me. When I'm not listening to Groove Salad on Soma.fm, I'm listening to ....
Things that make me lol
My friend Zach..
Zach: I'm chillin at Cafe Barrone in Menlo Park
Zach: right next to this fountain
Zach: and there is a really hot blonde college girl with a tiny Vaio
Zach: across from me
Zach: I know, not your type
Zach: not mine either except for the Vaio and the extended battery
Zach: I'm watching her type right now.....
And the USF BSIS 07 class motto:
When a MF realizes that a MF is a MF, then that MF should MF be the best damn MF a MF can MF be.
